Whatley Joins Bullard Town Hall, Council Approves COs | New



New employee Raiven Whatley, director of communications and public relations, was introduced at the Bullard city council meeting on Tuesday, July 13.

Whatley, whose role at Bullard began on June 14, has approximately seven years of experience in communications and marketing. She came to Bullard from her role at 2020 Companies, an outsourced sales company operating in three countries and serving a variety of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to developing brands. His work there included experience in both recruiting and marketing.

Whatley received her bachelor’s degree in health and wellness promotion from Texas State University. She is also a certified wedding planner and certified event manager.

She married Joshua Ryan Allen on March 6 of this year. The couple have two dogs: Bodie and Ally.

A graduate of Bullard High School, Whatley lived in San Marcos and Fort Worth before returning home.

She considers her position with the city as the job of her dreams due to her love for Bullard.

“To have served this community every day and to be able to help with the planning of events that I used to attend fills my heart,” said Whatley.

The council approved an ordinance authorizing the issuance and sale of Combined Tax and Fiscal Liability Certificates for the purpose of financing a new sewerage plant project. The Council has already approved the publication of the intention to issue such certificates at the May meeting.

Council also authorizes the closure of Phillips Street, from Main to Emma, ​​for the Fall Fling scheduled for Saturday, October 16.

In addition, the Smith and Cherokee County Assessment District budgets for 2022 and the previous meeting minutes have all been approved.

City Council held a public hearing on the Zoning Committee’s recommendations regarding changes to the zoning ordinance. The changes have been made to the minimum lot size for Single Family Residential District “R-1A” and Single Family Residential District “R-1B”. An amendment to the “C-3” central business district regarding authorized uses and description of purposes was also suggested.

Following the hearing, during which two developers opposed the proposed area on the minimum area of ​​lots in residential neighborhoods, the point was filed.

The next regular meeting of Bullard City Council is Tuesday August 10.
