For many Disney fans, the idea of being offered or proposed in a Disney Park is the ideal scenario. Not only are you in the most magical place on Earth, but almost any backdrop is still perfect, making it the perfect place to start your happiness forever!
As someone who visits Disney World often, I can say that I will likely see one or more of the offerings at least once a week. Disney World is a very popular proposition place, and if you want to stand out from the crowd, there may be some places you should avoid and others you should check out.
Before I dive in, let me preface that wherever you want to offer in Disney World will, of course, be a magical and perfect memory – even if it is a commonly used location. Because it might be a popular proposition spot for many, but it will be the only time you and your partner can experience it, which makes it unique for you!
A former wedding planner broke down all of the top Disney proposition locations regarding what was “overdone” and which locations are a little less used while still being a perfect place to offer. Rebecca Martens actually helped guests propose to Disney World, so it looks like she’s the expert in that department. Below are some of the more over the top places, as Martens noted.
- Main Street, USA – Magic Kingdom
- Cinderella’s Castle – Magic Kingdom
- Cinderella Wishing Good Luck – Magic Kingdom
- Tree of Life – Animal Kingdom
Rebecca said the main photo spots when entering a theme park are popular for their backdrop, but are common and can be difficult to capture an intimate photo because the areas are so crowded.
Below is a list of places where Rebecca would suggest couples get engaged if they want something different without too many people.
- World Showcase Pavilions – EPCOT
“You can have the Eiffel Tower in the background of your proposal photo, and you don’t have to be in Paris,” Martens said. “If you are from Germany, Japan or the UK and want to apply in your hometown, you can do so at Disney without having to travel overseas.”
- Trails between the lands – Magic Kingdom
“There are lots of trees, shade and nice quiet areas tucked away in the park that I think people don’t always pay attention to”
Rebecca said guests looking to propose to Disney should embrace the crowd because they will surely be there no matter what! Personally, I might not be a wedding planner, but as a Disney World lover I think Disney Resorts are also a great place to propose, and they will definitely be less crowded! My best choices would be Disney’s Polynesian Resort on the beach before the fireworks or Disney’s BoardWalk Resort.
As long as the location feels special and is right for you, you know you’ve picked the right place!
