All the bride and groom want their wedding day to be perfect. After all, it’s supposed to be “the happiest day of your life.”
However, while sharing the opportunity with loved ones is enough for most people, some people need to go the extra mile to make sure everything is fair.
That’s why a couple apparently asked their wedding planner to send guests a detailed list of “rules and regulations” for their special day.
Some of the stipulations were relatively reasonable – “do not wear white, cream or ivory” – but others were extremely extreme.
“DON’T SPEAK TO THE BRIDE AT ALL” was written in capitals to emphasize the importance of this point, and dress code instructions were extended to include the amount of makeup each attendee could wear. They were also told they would not be admitted unless they brought a gift worth at least $ 75 (£ 54).
The email containing the requests was shared with Reddit on Wednesday, racking up over 33,400 likes in just 24 hours.
Here it is in full:
Editors reveled in the absurd diktat, visualizing what guests would look and behave like on the day.
“I hope everyone with short hair especially men can get extensions so that they can shape their hair into a simple ponytail,” one wrote.
“I am thinking of wigs. Wigs of all colors. The fastest way to get a bob, ”commented another.
“Obnoxious wigs with a low ponytail, George Washington,” a third suggested.
While a fourth suggested that participants all wear “black tracksuits with no makeup at all”.
A fifth took a different stance, writing: “Bonus points are awarded to anyone who has 50% of their face fully swollen to new and 50% intact. “
The same user added, “People should go for malicious compliance here and everyone, without exception, is dumping the bride completely. Go upstairs and congratulate the groom, not the couple. Just don’t recognize her all night.
A sixth guest recommended “bring a gift worth $ 74.99, see if they let you in.”
While a seventh said, “I think a donation of $ 75 to charity is the perfect gift for this wacko.”
All we can say is we wonder how many people will show up that day. After all, they seem like a fun couple, don’t they?
