The Cougars beat Wayne State on the road, 38-17

WAYNE – The Sioux Falls defense proved too heavy for Wayne State.

The Cougars sacked WSC quarterback Nick Bohn seven times while scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter to walk away in a 38-17 Egg Bowl win.

Wayne State stayed with Sioux Falls for three quarters, but couldn’t complete practices, settling for a field goal late in the second quarter, and turning him over to a practice that would have potentially tied the game in the third.

The Cougar’s defensive line didn’t give the WSC any comfort, keeping the Wildcats at 117 rushing yards, although Wayne State dropped 51 yards in sacks.

Bohn completed 21 of 43 passes for 302 yards and a touchdown pass to Taurean Grady. The red-shirted first-year quarterback also rushed in for a touchdown and was named the WSC MVP.

Sioux Falls averaged 7.1 yards per carry, paced by junior Thuro Reisdorfer, whose 146 rushing yards put him at over 1,000 this season, and placed him in the top ten of all career time at Sioux Falls.

The loss is Wayne State’s ninth in a row against Sioux Falls
