Sandy Arthur Training Services featured on The One Show tonight.
With the UK facing a chronic shortage of lorry drivers, some transport companies are trying to attract more women into the profession, as currently only 1% of lorry drivers are women.
The team recently visited the company’s premises at Aghanloo Industrial Estate, Roe House, Limavady, to speak with one of their instructors Linda Christie and her student Bronagh McKeefry.
Bronagh recently changed careers from wedding planner to truck driver.
Speaking to The One Show, Bronagh said: “I think it’s great to see more female drivers on the road and these days there’s no kind of barrier with what a man and a women can and can’t do in their careers. I know plenty of girls my age who will probably jump at the chance to do it.”
Sandy Arthur Training Services is the country’s leading training provider to the road transport and construction sectors, offering a wide range of accredited courses to meet the needs of all our customers in the UK and Ireland.
