Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson isn’t the only social media star in his family.
Hutchinson, who was selected second overall by the Lions in the 2022 NFL Draft, currently has more than 100,000 followers on Instagram, with his mother Melissa Hutchinson quickly gaining momentum.
Melissa, who specializes in photography, frequently shares family photos on her personal Instagram page, including cute snaps with her daughters Mia and Aria, as well as her husband Chris, a former college football player.
In recent months, proud mum Melissa has documented her family’s “surreal” journey as 21-year-old Hutchinson climbed to the top of the dummy draft boards – something she called “uncharted territory” in a Instagram post last week.
“I got a little glimpse of it last week during an ESPN shoot we had the honor of being part of…I thought this image was such a poignant foreshadowing here as Aidan overlooks the city that will host the ‘one of the most amazing nights of his life,’ she captioned the post, which featured the Heisman Trophy finalist in a pre-draft photoshoot with ESPN.
“I could write a book about our experience so far, but for now all I can say is that meeting and working with some of the most incredibly kind, hard-working and spirited people has been by far one of the greatest experiences of my own life over the past 6 months. As you can imagine this is all pretty surreal for our family, definitely uncharted territory…I say this over and over again, but gratitude runs deep for all the support.💫”
Hutchinson went viral after helping Aidan celebrate Michigan’s 42-27 rivalry win over Ohio State on November 27, 2021.
She appeared in the background of a Fox Sports interview with a celebrating Hutchinson on the field, then celebrated with Wolverines fans.
“So some things happened yesterday,” Melissa wrote in an Instagram photo from the celebration.
When she’s not at football games and other events to support her daughters, Melissa seems very busy. Artistic photographer, Melissa shared her work online, with some shots taken in international locations.
Beyond photography, Melissa is also passionate about fashion. In 2020, she presented her new ambassador with Savvi clothing, an athleisure brand.
Melissa and her husband Chris will celebrate their 27th wedding anniversary in June, according to her Instagram page. She seems to be a family-oriented social butterfly who enjoys spending time with friends and supporting her community.
With Hutchinson likely to hear her name called in the first round of the NFL Draft, Melissa will soon be following in the footsteps of another Insta-famous NFL mom, Lisa Wilson, the family matriarch of Jets quarterback Zach Wilson.
