Pat and Nancy McConnell of Rock Springs are celebrating a very special day today: their 50th wedding anniversary.
Pat McConnell and Nancy Norman were married on October 9, 1971 at St Mark’s Episcopal Church in Casper, Wyoming. They first met at the University of Wyoming.
Pat retired in 2016 after working 44 years in the purchasing department at FMC. Nancy retired in 2011 from Sweetwater County School District 1 after 34 years of special education service at Reliance Elementary and Northpark Elementary Schools.

The couple have two children: Sydnie McConnell of Greeley, Colorado; and Randy McConnell and his wife Kelly of Rock Springs.
They also enjoy spending time with their four grandchildren, Kylah and her husband John Avery of Evanston, WY; Rhiannon McConnell and another prominent Ford Kerwin of Rock Springs; Allison McConnell and Damion Aragon of Rock Springs; and Aspen McConnell of Rock Springs. They also have two great-grandchildren, Renyn and Braysen.
In retirement, Pat enjoys working with wood and studying Wyoming history. Nancy loves to sew and quilt. But both love to worship their grandchildren and do whatever the kids want.
