Make a special wedding day

They brought forward their wedding date for a special guest.

“I was able to make a childhood dream come true with my dad and being able to have him here was really worth it,” said Angel Lowe.

Angel’s dream has come true. She must renew her vowels to the man she loves and she must have her father right by her side on her special day.

Her father was diagnosed with terminal cancer last year before Christmas. She wanted to make sure her father could see this moment.

“We had planned for it in 2025 but when he was diagnosed we knew it was not doable in 2025,” said Angel Lowe.

He says he’s glad he was able to walk her down the aisle.

“I was glad I was able to do it. It’s always good to give your children away! I hope I’ll be there long enough to see my grandchildren, fill them with sugar and send them home,” Ricky DeWeese said.

And for Angel’s husband, Frank, he’s glad he was able to be there to support his wife.

“It had been almost a year since her mother was diagnosed with the same thing. We felt like today was even more important with everything that was going on in our lives that they were a part of it,” said Frank Lowe. .

Two families, reunited for this New Year’s celebration, all in the name of love.

The Hormel Historic Home has been hosting weddings like this for the past year, they plan to host more on Valentine’s Day.
