There’s no doubt that it’s been quite a journey for Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula to finally walk down the aisle and say “yes” to each other. Along with a summer filled with ups and downs in the Hamptons, a three-year engagement and several postponed wedding dates amid a global pandemic, the couple have faced their fair share of challenges, all leading to the summer house the couple’s long-awaited walk down the aisle. “More previews! In fact, it’s just all the happy times you couldn’t see,” Kyle wrote in the caption of his May Day post, which featured some of the unforgettable moments summer house couple lived together while planning their wedding. “To glide [left] for a few milestones leading up to our big day,” Kyle added in the caption to his post, which included captures of Amanda’s bridal shower, their tasting menu experience with their caterer, buying wedding rings and tasting cake with mom and dad. ‘Amanda, who was featured on the April 18 episode.
Kyle also included the couple‘s original backup card of the date from which they had first planned to say “yes” in September 2020, which was postponed to June 2021, then finally postponed to this month of September, due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
After reliving the joyful occasion via the Season 6 finale, Kyle opened up about his marriage to Amanda in an Instagram post, calling it “the happiest day of my life.” He shared a series of sweet snaps from their nuptials along with a heartfelt caption: “Nothing compares to the feeling of marrying your best friend and letting your other best friend make it official. I know we’re not the model couple — we have our flaws and we put them all out there for all to judge — but we both know what true love is and what is worth fighting for. I realize that our family, friends, and fans can’t see it all (especially the happy parts that make TV boring), so I want to thank everyone for their love and support through our ups and downs. our stockings. I think we’ve been thrown at every curve ball possible in our 3 year engagement, 2 TV shows and 1 mad dash [Loverboy] during a pandemic, but here we are. Husband and wife!”
Kyle went on to express candidly how much his relationship with Amanda meant to him, writing, “For [Amanda], I know I gave you every reason to doubt me, so thank you for looking beyond all of this and seeing me and loving me for me and believing in us. I’m still a work in progress, but I’m fully committed to being the best husband and father I can be, and thank you for helping me grow and be a better man. Thanks to you, I have a new meaning of love, respect and purpose. When I’m with you, I’m the best man I can be.”
Kyle also recently reflected on his and Amanda’s path down the aisle as he shared a throwback moment with the couple.‘memorable engagement in September 2018.”Before tonight’s episode, I wanted to bring everyone back to when I put on my jacket and got down on one knee,” Kyle wrote in the caption of his May 2 post, which featured a series of screenshots from the proposal.
He went on to reminisce about the special day, adding, “Amanda had no idea what was going to happen, which is kind of a crazy thought when I look at her in that first photo. On the 2nd photo, we prematurely toasted with champagne [because] she accidentally saw it on ice in the cabin so I skipped it to avoid suspicion. The rest of the photos are history, including the producers from our chase boat cheering us on (I was so glad it was included in the edit – our crew is like family to us). September 2, 2018 will be a day I will never forget.”
This isn’t the first time Kyle has opened up about his relationship with Amanda before they married. Kyle recently posted another throwback photo from where the summer house the couple finally got married, in Amanda’s garden‘parents’ home in New Jersey.
“Slittle peek! This is the very place where you will see Amanda and I getting married tomorrow night. It still gives me butterflies to think back to that moment, especially when I think back to everything leading up to it (3 more locations, 5 more dates),” Kyle wrote in the caption of his post, adding, “We had the wedding of our dreams and I married the woman of mine [Amanda].”
Amanda also wasn’t shy about expressing how she felt about her relationship leading up to her marriage to Kyle. She shared on her Instagram Stories, writing, in part, “Whether you love us, hate us, think we’re good together or can’t believe we’ve been through it, it doesn’t matter. doesn’t matter. It hasn’t been easy, but we’ve shared our whole relationship with you – the ups and downs, the good and the bad, the happy and the sad, and now our marriage – so for that, you’re welcome.”
Of course, Kyle and Amanda weren’t the only ones in the summer house to share all the unforgettable moments from the momentous occasion, as several of their Hamptons housemates, including Luke Gulbranson, Lindsay Hubbard, Andrea Denver and Kyle and Amanda’s honorary celebrant, Carl Radke, took to Instagram to celebrate and reveal heartwarming captures of the couple’s epic wedding day.
