Alexandre Vauthier has once again distilled the fashion message of his latest couture collection in the form of ready-to-wear, working his wardrobe dressed in more democratic fabrics and techniques. Instead of a film, he chose to present his creations through a series of images in the varied styles of photographers whose work he admires.
The look: While the sequin-heavy glamor-girl dresses for which Vauthier is best known – in colorful tones of pleated lamé or velvet, or worked in sparkling fringes all over the place – stood out the most, there was a lot to offer. among the sharp-cut silhouettes of tactile fabrics, and even a range of comfortable and colorful oversized ribbed sweaters.

Quote to note: “Fashion is at a pivotal moment,” said Vauthier during a preview in his Paris studio. “We have to bet on something that will engage people. Luxury brands today must have a very personal, very distinctive identity.
Remarkable pieces: For their visual impact, a pleated strapless dress in silver lamé that sums up the codes of the house, or black jeans featuring the firework motif of Lesage embroidery from the couture collection, worked in thermoformed crystals, the bottom covered with feathers. In a more sober daytime register, dresses in pleated chiffon with ruffled collars and coats and capes in wool or crepe perfectly cut in off-white or camel.
Carry: Alexandre Vauthier wants to make sure that when women come out of isolation and start living again, he gives them options for all occasions – from a blasted night on the dance floor to a day at the office or a winter stroll in the park.
